'Mother' - Spoken Word project

Three of the spoken word boys - Omar, Denzel and Benny - perform heartfelt pieces about their mothers and what they mean to them. Three very innovative, poignant and striking pieces.

Singer/songwriter Belle and spoken word artist Inua Ellams worked with a group of boys aged 12-15 years old from Newham to develop, write and perform their own spoken word pieces. The results are powerful, funny, heartfelt and extremely impressive performances. The project was subsequently shortlisted for the BBC Slambassadors Awards.
