"Casper" is a 2005 GMC Duramax diesel 2500HD pickup with Allison Transmission. McRat drove it to a peak sustained speed of 174.586 mph at Bonneville on pump diesel. It is the world's fastest production diesel pickup, with OEM axles, transmission, and engine running a single turbo.

  • The speedo tops out at 120mph, but the engine computer reads up to 155mph. At that point, the engine data goes back to 0 mph and starts climbing again.

When I bought the truck, it had a top speed of 96mph.

  • It was running a single Garrett/PPE GT42/45 at the time, running about 50PSI boost. Max horsepower (800rwhp) occurs at 4400 rpm.

This year we hit 197mph running twins, a GT55 on top of a GT42 with 916rwhp at 3800rpm.
