Night Stalker playing on the Mattel Aquarius vintage home computer. Retro gaming.

This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demonstration of my playing ability.
It's simply a quick demonstration of the game so that anyone not familiar with these old games can see what it looks like.
It's also here so that I can embed it, along with most of the games in my collection, on my website (see link above).

Any opinions or comments I make regarding these games should largely be taken with a pinch of salt.
They are usually based on my first impressions after a very brief play.

  • I've atched loads of your vids and somehow this one had escaped me. How did you manage to get the Aquarius to work on the UK voltage thingy? I read somewhere that they were only released in the US :S

  • @cmdfarsight They were released in the UK and intended to compete with the Sinclair Spectrum, but sold in fairly limited numbers. They show up on ebay fairly regularly but despite their alleged rarity, don't command a very high price.

  • Steve,

How many of these computers were made? I read that there are less than 20,000 of these computers made. This is had to believe because this computer sells for peanuts on e-bay. $2-10 plus shipping. Another reason that I do not believe that on 20,000 computers were made because you can find this computer for sale on e-bay all the time from different sellers. It is not hard to find.

  • I've read 20,000 as well.

I don't know... it may be true, since there were only 8000 Jupiter Ace's made, and they show up fairly regularly just lately too.

Probably people know what the J.A. is worth, and so are looking to make a pretty penny, while those with the Aquarius just want to get rid of it.

That's just speculation though. But the prices of some things have very little to do with availability.

NES for £40 and Dreamcast for £20? Absolutely ludicrous.

  • I wonder why none of your videos give the option to view in higher quality.

I see that on most other vids I check out. I wonder if it has to do with the resolution that you originally encode the videos at.

  • Yeah, it's the resolution I upload at.

Most of them are quite low, and it's only recently that I've been uploading at a slightly higher resolution (and still not very high).

I find the upload time so long with hi-rez videos, and with so many videos to upload, and so little time to do it in, it's necessary to compromise.
