The guitar work on this song is simply amazing. Why cant more guitar players play with emotion instead of speed.

@IrishVolunteer1 ofcourse he was better.. elvis didn't even write his own songs. besides, lyric kings as bob dylan has said that "Phil Lynott was one of the biggest poetic song writers ever"
-
Brian Robertson deserves a lot of credit for this song too, he wrote most of the lyrics.

Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Guns and Roses. What do those three bands have in common? They all have owned up their sound would not have existed Without the influence of the half Irish Half black guy whose voice You are listening to right now. His name is Phil Lynott,, singer for Thin Lizzy RIP If you are an American, tell your fellow Americans that, because most Americans have no Idea who this legend is even though his music influenced many of your favorite bands.

A pure masterpiece, the most underrated lizzy song
I have heard alot of Thin Lizzy over the years.I have always been a fan in a small way.The oly albums I own are Jaibreak and Dedication.Without this post I would not have heard this beautiful song.I can sympathize with the lyrics because I have lived it myself.Thank you very much for this post!
