  • Can I just say not all the german paras are old Im 22. Im the one who gets shot at 2.47 in the vid.

and it was qutie common for germans to use the sten especaliy as the group we portray 600 btl which was formed about late 1944.

  • @05coxa Early November '44. Great reenactment, really enjoyed it, and went back on the second day soley to watch the reenactments again. Thought your falling after being shot was one of the more convincing 'drops'. Will the 39-45 Society be at this event in 2011, or too early to say?

  • Nice vid Hanglands. just been following the talk about the falschirmjaeger with the sten. Turns out the German firm Blohm & Voss knocked out copies of the sten; they were issued to Volksturm units instead of the better made Erma MP40 and Mauser 98. Known as the BV 108. There was also an outright copy of the Sten known as the Potsdam Device issued to troops on clandestine missions. Pbbly built to a better standard than the BV108. Found this in Ian Hoggs excellent book The Complete Machine Gun

  • @raherecolston Hi mate... interesting info. I didnt even know B&V were in the gunmaking trade - I just thought they engineered aero stuff.

  • great video some good camera work , nice clean clear steady shots the

reenactors were very original looking for once apart from the one german with a sten gun nice work 5 star work .

  • @westmids11 Hi... Ive just been doing some reading up about German weapons in WWII... It seems they had a few Sten-like weapons. It seems they had a Sten MkII copy with the magazine connecting downwards called the MP3008, as well as using captured examples of the Sten which were given the designations MP748 thru to MP751 for the Sten MkI, MkII, MkIII, and MkII with silencer respectively. That was news to me too!

  • Thanks for the video, looks great filming. The 39-45 Society won't be back to NVR this year, shame. They are doing loads ofother shows all over the counrty though. By the way, I'm the guy at the start of the vid directing folk.

  • @05coxa ... and at least you aren't an overweight American soldier who never takes hits.

  • @vockay74 Many thanks for watching and commenting. It was indeed a great reenactment... I enjoyed it so much that I went back again today.

  • wHAT A GREAT VIDEO! So well filmed. We were watching this and thought it was great. The best we have seen.

  • @100thbombgroup Wotcha mate. There was a bit of a Home Guard/Volkssturm element, but they all did a fantastic job... this video doesnt really reflect their great performance and effort. Was good to see some of the diesels standing in the yard ready for next weekends diesel gala. Back there today....
