H1N1 Vaccine Miscarriage Risk

It is stated plainly in the Arepanrix adjuvanted H1N1 vaccine package that the product was associated with miscarriage, birth defects and developmental delays in rats.Nonetheless, our government continues to recommend that pregnant women take the adjuvanted vaccine if flu rates are increasing and they are unable to get the unadjuvanted version at that time. How can our public health officials consider this an acceptable risk/benefit ratio?About 1 in 450 pregnant women who catch influenza will go on to develop complications. According to data from Australian epidemiological surveillance, one in 3800 pregnant women are hospitalized for flu-related complications, but these women had other risk factors such as obesity. The risk of pregnant women dying from flu was found to be about 1/300000.

So far, there has only been one "H1N1-related" death in a pregnant woman in Canada since the virus first appeared in April, and this woman actually died of blood loss following an emergency C-section done because she was suffering respiratory distress. In other words, the flu was only very loosely connected to a single death. Meanwhile, the vaccine has to date never been tested in pregnant women and is known to have adverse outcomes in the offspring of treated rats. Clinical trials on pregnat women were SUSPENDED because the women developed fever, which is known to affect fetal development. Whether the public health officials are totally incompetent or are being negligent, either way there is a serious problem.

BUT THE DATA CONTRADICTS THE ABOVE CONCLUSION. FROM THE SAME INSERT:

"Two reproductive studies were conducted with AS03-adjuvanted H5N1 antigen and evaluated the effect on embryo-fetal and peri-and post-natal development in rats, following intramuscular administration. Although no definite conclusion could be reached, regarding a possible relation to treatment with the H5N1 vaccine and/or the adjuvant AS03, and other findings were considered normal, the following observations deserve to be mentioned: In the first study, there was an increased incidence of fetal malformations with markedly medially thickened/kinked ribs and bent scapula as well as an increased incidence of dilated ureter and delayed neurobehavioral maturation. In the second study, there was an increased incidence of post-implantation loss, and the fetal variation of dilated ureter. Not all findings were observed in both studies, and hence the toxicological significance is uncertain."

To get tetanus, you have to receive a deep puncture wound, which must be contaminated with tetanus spores from animal feces in warm, moist soil, and you must not clean the wound. It also should not bleed. Bandage it tightly: tetanus is anaerobic, it dies on contact with the air.

If you are at risk for the above, by all means, get a shot of that junk.

Half the US population is not immune to tetanus, yet there are only 55 cases a year, in people with risk factors.

My wife just gave birth (January 15th), and the nurse in there said that they had three women THAT MONTH die after giving birth due to pneumonia complications from the flu. I question the statistic that the odds are 1/300000 for pregnant women to die from the flu: is that all flus or just H1N1? Or is that a statistic from before H1N1?

The stat comes from the Australian flu season of 2009 with H1N1.

1- were the women in the hospital you mention pregnant or were they pregnant and obese? Because obesity is a major risk factor and 30% of the US population is obese. I would worry more about being obese than pregnant.

2- Vaccines for flu have never been proven to reduce risk of hospitalization or death in pregnant women.

3- There is no way to be 100% safe of anything. Everything has risks. Vax or no vax.

In norway there has been 4 deaths and 4 miscarriages within few days after vaccinaton ( cont. squalene) in the last week, also there has been reports on dead fetus syndrome and stillbirth short after vaccination from the previous week. I was determined on getting this shot, due to the fact that I have a 2 year old and that the flu death-rates here has been higher than other countries..but I think I just changed my mind..

My doctor wants me to get the vaccine, I am not going to. I never have had a flu shot let alone an h1n1 shot and rarely get sick. I would not take that risk to my baby
