leg hold traps

My dog Otis was caught in two leg hold traps recently. One on his left left, the other on his shoulder. I had been cross country skiing with him along a road in the mountains of Montana. He spent close to an hour in the traps. Darkness was falling and a winter storm was coming in. All very disturbing to say the least. The most stressful part was trying to figure out how to free him. Luckily my skiing companion who took the pictures keep her cool as I was freaking out. I use a pocket knife to saw through a steel cable that was securing the traps to a tree. The cable was wrapped around the trap on his leg preventing me from accessing it.

I got an idea if you don't don't how to open a leghold trap instead of complaining you should get educated..... Also snapping a carrot doesn't take a whole lot of force... and I bet if you ask any trapper to stick their hand it that trap they'll go right ahead...

If your cat or dog gets caught in my traps they will become bait. Outside cats are feral as far as I'm concerned, they compete with the natural fauna. Dogs off a lead can only be chasing or bothering wildlife! Keep them contained. Ground kitty makes terrific bait for predators.

if your dog or cat or fish or lizard or whatever gets themselves in a leghold trap...JUST LOOK AT THEM! they arent that hard to figure out! traps are easy to open if u just locate the spring and step on it.

I don't agree but I kinda feel for the dog... Those traps are everywhere, and it's not fair on dogs to just get caught for no reason... But traps need to be there to be fair...
