Professor David Crystal is one of if not the highest ranking linguist in Britain. He thinks Arabic is one of the three languages that may overtake English. Tell that to the Arabs who say to their children "you don't need Arabic"!!!

  • Complete myth. 100% no doubt about it. If that were true, America, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Ireland all British colonies would be poor, all are the richest countries on earth.

  • @garybsg please oh please, if the british empire never existed then britain would never ever be the richest country in the world, its a fact, india made the british even more rich with its vast reserves, the british called india the jewel in the crown

  • @ADIMM0 You're right. No one knew what it was in 1600 but it has always been around from the dawn of time. GDP was $3/day for every nation on earth including Britain, Norway, Egypt and India up to 1700. In 1700s, Britain had a moral revolution with a belief of individual freedom for all citizens. This lead to an industrial revolution and enormous increase in productivity. It was a belief in individual liberty, not imperialism, that made England rich.

  • @garybsg the concept was but gdp has always been there, i.e. the term

  • @ADIMM0 LOL India had the largest GDP when Britain took it over in 1600s. They even know what GDP was in 1600s and couldn't measure it. LOL

  • @garybsg are you stupid or what they are countries who have not been under occupation take india for example it had the worlds largest gdp at the time and when the british forcefully conquered it and left they left a poor and bankrupt country

  • @ADIMM0 Nice try but that would mean Japan is poor, Singapore is poor, Hong Kong is poor but they're are not. They are some of the richest countries on earth. Keep lying to yourself

  • @narlycat What you said makes no sense, why would a muslim scholar say mathematics is of the devil, what was the name of the person, mathamatics is not devilish and islam doesnt say that it is devilish

  • @garybsg thats because the west has exploited the east and has token everthing away from us

  • @ADIMM0 any culture can go through a period of Dark Ages. Greece was in one from 1300 BC to 700 BC when all the cultural developments were coming from the Phoenicians in Lebanon. The Islamic Dark Ages started in 1200 AD when a chief Islamic scholar said that mathematics was of the devil and the Islamic Renaiccance of 800 - 1100s AD came to an end. China's dark ages was the Ming Dynasty of 1300s down from the highlights of the Tang Dynasty of the 900s CE.
