Urdu is a creole language of the north indian prakrits that evolved into hindi later and the farsi/turkish/arabic from the rulers at the time. Urdu is the same type of language as hinglish, where you have the base being local and the vocabulary for certain items being loan words from other languages. While hindi is unique, urdu is not as the exact words exist in farsi or arabic
