Tommy Makem-Ever The Winds

Written by Tommy himself, This is one of his most overlooked songs. I personally feel it's brilliant. Anyways...this is once again taken from an old LP. One is not likely to come across this on CD or I-Tunes. But despite the pops and hisses, it's still a wonderful song and one that should have gotten more attention. I always felt a lot of Tommy's best songs were his lesser known ones.

This is most certainly my favorite Tommy Makem's song.

I have never heard it before, I have never known he wrote songs (I thought the only songs he sang were the classical songs with the Clancies).

Tommy's strong point was his writing. He is terribly underrated when it comes to that.

Wow, thanks for posting; songs like this are a real treat.  I'm a huge Tommy Makem fan, and I've never heard these songs before because I can't find the out-of-print LP albums anywhere. If you get around to posting any more of them, I'd be very interested to hear them. Thanks so much!

Sorry this response has taken so long. It got lost in the shuffle. You've probably noticed by now, but I have a lot more of Tommy's songs in the Irish Music section of my channel. It's a shame that the bulk of Tommy's solo work is out of print. His best songs came from these old records.
