I've been waiting a long time for a proper Mustang to be developed for GTR2, so I can take advantage of my Mustang fanaticism and develop realistic engine and supercharger sounds for it. It only took... well it took for-damn-ever, but finally the Mustang is here, and while it's not the New Edge model I was hoping for, a GT500 will do just fine, so I started working on these sounds about a week ago.

These sounds, just like all my work, is developed from the ground up to be as realistic and authentic as possible. This is a video of the sounds in beta form, and may not represent the final release. That being said, as of this moment, I do not forsee many changes being made to these sounds, as they pretty much the most accurate sounding engine and forced induction sounds I've developed to date. That is until I develop my own street-going GT500 mod, which is going to have an overdrive pully, and new exhaust, tires and physics. The one in this video already has a modified suspension to make the car more street-like, and the handling is slowly becoming more and more managable and predictable (as Mustangs are).

Developing this car to factory specs could very well be my best mod ever, considering I've been into Mustangs since I was 4 years old and know everything there is to know about them. I also happen to own one, which also gives me an edge on what kind of experience this car should deliver.

  • it sounds really good..but from behind you shouldnt be able to hear the supercharger..at least not as much as yu can in the slip

  • The game engine doesn't support that type of doppler effect, neither does any racing game engine currently in existence. The sounds would have to change dynamically with the position of the vehicle with reference of where the camera is. Currently there is no support for a physical sound space like this. Maybe in the future there will be, but I doubt it.

  • Wow...

Sounds TOO damn good. I understand why you're apprehensive about releasing these... Almost everyone would take them, pass them off as their own, and call it a day... Great work, xilix.

  • Thanks you very much for the compliment. Being a Mustang owner/fanatic, I felt obligated to try as hard as I could to do the Mustang justice. I spent around 8 hours searching for and recording master samples alone.

Make sure to check out my latest video of the GT500 sounds, it has louder exhaust, new suspension, tires and stock engine. Very nice to drive.

I still MIGHT release these sounds as a standalone sound mod, for reasons listed in my latest video info.

  • Ah, I see. Well good luck with that business then m8, hope you get to sort it out smoothly.

  • It could be anywhere from a week to maybe even over a month or so. I owe my service provider a chunk of cash, so when I go to re-direct my service to the new place, they're probably going to want to collect on it. It shouldn't be too too long, but with my luck it'll be longer than I want it to be.

  • Thanks for the heads-up. Do as you see fit and don't rush things. How long is 'unknown' with the internet thing? Do you have a rough guess?

  • I'm going to be moving into a new place soon, which means I won't have any internet for a while. This may push me to release these and as many other sound mods out as soon as I can, I'm not sure. All I know is the last thing I want is to not be able to get my work out there due to not having internet for an unknown amount of time. On top of that, I don't think I'd mind if maybe RMi wanted to use them. Ugh. Still dunno, but I'll keep updating.

  • Hard decision maybe, but the correct one methinks. It's hard work making these sounds so you should do what you feel is right with them.

  • I've been thinking about this for some time now. Permissions for the tuned factory Mustang I want to do is pending, and won't be given until RMi release their versions for the car. I wanted to be the first to officially release these sounds along with a car, which is why I'm apprehensive on releasing them as a standalone right now. It's a hard decision to make. I know once they're released someone is going to use them in a mod. I'll let you know soon though.
