  • @pspboy7 Glad you can speak for Gene. Did they also place the episodes with the original "effects" into a digital, hopefully more archival format?

  • why is there no sound

  • They re-did the effects for several reasons, one, to revitalize the series, and two, to put the series into a new digital format because the old film was deteriorating badly. So, basically, the same reasons that Lucas had to re-do the Star Wars films. So people, you can quit whining already about the new look. I personally think it's a brilliant idea and Gene would have thought so too.

  • I gotta tell you SANPH that even an Eagles fan thinks their team breaks all the records, Jeff Gordon is the greatest driver, and Micheal Jackson is the best entertainer... We can adjust, debate, and go on for centuries about any of it. The simple fact is this, a trekker feels Star Trek is number one because they/we like it that much. Nobody cares about adjusted dollars, real box office sales, or other drivel. Yes, it does preach. Roddenberry set out to do that. SANPH, don't watch the show. ok?

  • @heavyarms01h Actually the next one was "The Corbomite Maneuver." "The Man Trap" I believe was 6 or 7. The episodes were aired and put on the DVD out of sequence. Continuity wasn't a big issue in those days.

  • But your comment is nothing more than you bitching.

I take it you fail to see the irony in this.

    LOL!

  • thank you destructive1 for posting this. the great barrier scene in the remastered version is my favorite remastered effects scene in all of remastered star trek. I love it so much, I had to do this video justice and I pulled it from here and added sound to it. so the world may not only see it but hear and experience it too

  • your all idiots seriously do urselves all a big fat favour get a life and quit ur bitching.

  • Maybe, maybe not. But the for sure thing is that it will fiscally revive the franchise by making it more accessible to the mainstream, and possibly revitalize old disillusioned fans who were getting tired of the preachy, ethics-focused Roddenberry style where humans live in a faultless communist utopia (yeah right); and/or bring new blood into the trek fanbase, which can only be good for treks survivability in the long-term.

  • Again, as I was trying to tell the 1-800-RETARD genius previously, everything I am saying can be verified from factual, verifiable sources in multiple locations and databases. imdb, lees movie info, and the-numbers, they all get info from industry sources. I have not made up a single thing I've said regarding the individual successes of each trek film. A trek film can only break a record relative to other trek films. They have never broken any general film record or sci-fi genre record.
