Cervelo S5 frame is Terrible

Do not buy this bike. The frame is of very poor quality and workmanship and Cervelo will not stand behind the frame. The customer service is terrible. What ever you do, view this video if you are thinking of buying this frame or bike.

You think it is so simple but the hanger is epoxied on and riveted with 3 rivets. It is not a part so easily found as you think. Calfee design could not even get one. If they are so readily available how come did Cervelo have to harvest one off a broken frame?

Why don't you tell that to the shop who was working on the bike not me. I have no control over what the bike shop does in regards to replacing the hanger and have no idea where to get them. It was not my concern as the bike was under warranty and the bike shop was taking care of it. All I know was the bike shop held my bike for 6 weeks cause Cervelo failed to provide the part in a timely manner. Sounds like their customer sever is no better then yours with your rude comments.

Mr. Croydoncycleworks, I understand you are a business owner and a dealer of Trek and Cervelo. Do you think it is appropriate to respond with such sarcasm to a customer of Trek and Cervelo bikes? I find it interesting you talk to a customer, who had a bad experience no fault of his own, in such a disrespectful manner. Maybe I should just forward your comments to Trek and see if they like how you treat their customers. Maybe you should just end your rude comments here.

I had a bent front derailuer hanger and the dealer in town removed it to replace it as Cervelo sent a new one. During install it was noticed it was different. It took the bike shop 6 weeks to get a new one and 5 calls to customer service reps who personally said one is on the way. Finally the manager called up fumed and yelling and the person over nighted one. The SLC-SL was on the rack torn apart literally for 6 weeks. The customer service is horrible.

All your arguments are non-sense. You sell them so you are biased. The bike looked like a painted proto type. Its not the bike that is fast it is the rider on bike. 3K is not a reasonable price. That is expensive for a frame set and with that the finished product should reflect that. Every other bike it the price range does reflect it. Far more important it the unbelievably crappy customer service they offer.

Cervelo stated they would not take it back from me or the dealer but the dealer took it back and said they were going to resell it to a girl. Poor girl.

16K views on this video. I own an R3 and love it but in this day and age, Cervelo should've taken your frame back as word will spread fast on the internet. Maybe buy the frame in person next time so you can inspect it?

would you spend a lot of money on something and tolerate a poor quality item

he is a professional painting contractor and therefore knows what a good paint finish is

Those pictures at the end are pretty surprising, for that expensive of a bike I would expect better workmanship. I'd bet money that cervelo is right and the bike is safe but the finish, decal work, and paint job are awful. Walmart bikes have better finishes than that.

There are a lot of frames that are lighter and faster than Cervelo, some UCI legal, some not like the ones from Zipp. All I care about is speed... and I will write you, check the frames Zipp 2001 and 3001. They are millions years ahead of what Cervelo is... for Triathlon, or for just SPEED/time trial...

These frames have their own issues... but for the money Cervelo is asking they should offer better finish on their frames than what is shown in this video

@idahopainters Not trying to be rude just thought you'd apreciate some honesty. I actually do know my stuff. If you cant handle some debate dont post it. I have already fwd my comments to Cervelo. Good luck with your cycling hope you find a bike that performs as well as the Cervelo and is more pleasing to your eye.
