HP Touchpad: Can It Be Charged By 3rd Party Chargers?

In short: no.
In long: must use the HP AC/USB adapter; you do not have to use the HP USB/microUSB sync cable. Anyone else get this result too?

Tested:
HP's AC/USB adapter (10W) + HP's microUSB sync cable: WORKED (hahah duh; I sure would hope so!)
Jabra microUSB AC adapter (output 5V 180mA) - fail
Plantronics microUSB AC adapter (output 5V 600mA): fail
LG AC/USB adapter (output 5.1V 0.7A) + LG microUSB sync cable: fail
LG AC/USB adapter + HP's microUSB sync cable: fail
HP's AC/USB adapter + LG microUSB sync cable: WORKED

thats cuz the voltage is not high enough, ipad charger should work!

@hacks4iphone According to Apple's website, yes, the iPad charger is a 10W USB Power Adapter, just like the HP Touchpad's. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks Rav!!! Umm but when I plug the wire from usb to hp touch pad, nothing happens, if I use Jabra one it says to use the one that came with hp touchpad. Now I think it's either my tablets bricked :'( and I will need help :'( or the wire is ruined and need to get a new one. :P

@DisneyWatcherXD I'll be honest and say I don't own an HP Touchpad but will get it by next week. But from flashing over a dozen + phones you should be able to get the tablet into the bootloader (usually for a phone this is holding the down volume button and powering on the device). You should be able to charge it while it's in that state

How do I reflash, it's dead and NOW I CAN'T DO ANYTHING BUT SEE THE CHARGING SYMBOL, and TELLING ME TO PLUG IT IN, I DO AND NOTHING HAPPENS. sorry for caps LOL but plzz help and reply! thanks :)

I installed custom firmware CM9, it doesn't charge now, still wont with Jabra one.

Use a blackberry charger, although you wont find the lightning symbol to ensure its charging it actually charges! 100% guarantee, I use that for my touchpad.

PS: A notification might pop up saying that you should use the Hp adapter but just ignore it and you should be fine!

@hacks4iphone if its higher than 1.5v then it should work so its simple as that
