The slide lock spring on this Glock broke which let the slide stop drop down and made the gun inoperable
This happened while doing training drills on the range
The approx round count for this pistol is 14,000 rounds
I think this is a good reason to change the slide lock spring on a Glock at about 10,000 rounds
This is a $3 part and since it is important, it would be worth having a spare on hand for each pistol

  • Great video thanks!! I just bought my first pistol, a Glock 21. I wouldn't know the first thing about something going wrong like this. So should I have my pistol checked and serviced by Glock...how does that work, because I wanna have my Glock in perfect working order at all times and I dont want to have it KABOOOM.

  • @damon323

this is a 10,000 round failure if I recall correctly .. so at some point you should replace all the springs, but not anytime soon with a new pistol

  • Any pistols made in the USA worth looking at. Everyone seems so immersed into the Austrian Glock. Any USA maker as good as Glock??? I want to buy, but I like the idea of supporting manufacturing done here in the USA...

  • thats glock for you

  • But I was able to shoot the weapon and it did not take me out of the fight. I am sure it was not safe but still operated fine. Operated so well I didn't know it was broke. I took it to a Glock Armor and he didn't have any springs. Told me they cost about a nickle, so I order one on line and it cost about seven bucks. The new on was much thicker and I was able to replace it with ease, by watching a you tube video. It was not rocket science. I have shot it ever since with out fail.

  • I shot about 3000 rounds through my Glock 19 when the slide lock spring broke. I was at the range shooting with a few of my buddies. The lane bench had several Glocks and boxes of ammo on it. I notice the slide stop next to a box of ammo. I thought it was just a piece of trash. I continue to fire my Glock 19 and ran about another 100rds through it. It was my buddy that picked up the piece of medal that I thought was trash and said "OH NO!" We examined all the Glocks and discovered it was my G19

  • A broken Glock is a dead man's hand.

  • @cfezuwm Glock > Anything else :D

  • What happens if he shot a round through it?

  • Great video. I have just started owning and shooting Glocks, 17 & 19. I asked a Glock armorer what parts could break and cause the gun to be non-working, this part was one of them. Now I have spares. I have S&W semis with 20k + rounds through them without a problem, glad to see I can expect the same kind of performance with the Glocks. Spare parts are essential. I have done the same for my S&W's and for 20+ years have not had to change a broken part.

  • sig > glock.

  • Geez 14,000 rounds and something finally broke, that's pretty reliable.
