Thanks for making this series available. After reading Wholeness and The Implicate Order, I have been reading up on all Bohm's ideas. I have no doubt he is one of the greatest and largely undiscovered minds of our present era.

Thank you so much for publishing this important information!

What's more important money or conciousness? WTF is this moron hahhah
-
@bobo007xx Jesus spoke in riddles and parables.
-
@lourak Hmm...I'm not sure how one could be told such a thing. How can you NOT be aware? That's the real question.
-
@stellar876 No, actually - to my great chagrin! Are you so AWARE? (or were you told?)
-
@lourak What mind/body problem? Aren't you already aware of what you are? Serious question.
-
@stellar876 I am neither skeptical about the need or desire to rally peoples of diverse origins and backgrounds to the achievement of a unifying method of discourse - nor of the perhaps overly ambitious project of interpreting quantum processes in a manner that invokes some principal of wholeness. I am, however, extremely skeptical, of the attempt to extrapolate, directly, from physical laws to the cognitive realm. I first need to solve the mind /body problem before venturing into that area.
-
@lourak Curious--what is it that you are exactly skeptical about. Bohm is presenting POSSIBILITIES from what is already irrefutable scientifically--the fact that there is no separation between constituent "atoms" of the known universe. Point out the vacuum if you disagree.
-
@stellar876 Well see that's the thing--you talk of "extrapolating" from observed phenomena, but what seems to be actually happening here is Bohm is observing what is ACTUALLY happening in regard to the structure of society, the depth of exploration into the potential quantum ramifications then follows, not necessarily the other way around. Nah mean?
-
@stellar876 Well - I am admittedly no expert in quantum mechanics, but having had an interest in this subject for many years, I feel confident in expressing no more than a healthy skepticism with respect to what Bohm says here. Thanks!

fascinating analogy, i suppose you could take it a little further and say out of the two, who would be more likely to turn into narrow minded extremist..
you seem a good man Roubiere i'll pester you no longer.

Yeah, or out of the two, which is more likely to rise from the dead? So there you have it. Richard Feynman: leader of the zombie revolt. I rest my case.

my comment certainly was'nt meant as derogatory Roubiere, im just stating what was apparent to me, both scientist have devoted followers though how they interpret the bigger picture is some what different. i'd like to think those who are inspired by david are nowhere near as cynical of others views as those who think of feynman as some diety.

Oh I wasn't offended. I just didn't know what you meant and didn't feel like looking up the Feynman video. That's fascinating. If I were to give an analogy of the two, I'd see Feynman as Jesus and Bohm as Socrates. Jesus has the answers and speaks dogmatically; he makes lectures, not dialogues. That's Feynman's approach. Socrates claims ignorance but wants to discuss the merits of all ideas, even if he ultimately shoots many down. He values dialogue. That's Bohm's approach.
Cheers!
