I have 70-200 IS F2.8 mk2 and there is no noise :) I just love that lens.

Hold it in hands instead, as someone else posted - it's a bit louder 'cos of the vibrations hitting a hard surface like the table.
I have the same lens, and can't hear it when I'm shooting, not even cats or birds gets scared by it.

focus sound that loud because you put it on the table, if you hold it by hand or on tripod and focusing, it can be little sound!
