Okay I was 13 when I saw the remake so don't judge me for seeing the remake before the 1984 original, anyway I downloaded the original and watched it last night. To be honest, I liked the remake more, I loved Robert Englund in the original for being a funny smart-ass of a villain (in contrast to Jackie's more sinister portrayal), and I give the producers credit for the great manual effects, but overall I preferred the remake for it's darker, more menacing tone.

i loved the original so much and when i saw the remake i was happy with Jackie earl Hayley preformance and i'm happy that if someone was to replace robert englund that it was Jackie because he did a fantastic job!
