In 1976, ABC debuted a new show: Break the Bank, with host Tom Kennedy. The idea: agree with celebrities to score boxes, which have denominations, money bags, a WILD card, and some blanks. Get 3 of the same denomination, you win. Get 3 money bags, you break the bank and win $5,000 (plus $500 for each game). Celebrities are Abe Vigoda, Alice Ghostley, JoAnn Pflug, Dick Gautier, Jan Murray, Lynda Carter, Liz Torres, Robert Hedgyes, and Marjoe Gortner. First players are Marlene and Ralph
