I'm going to add in here, since I'm a little peeved at Omegatide. You have no idea of what you are even talking about. Master Wang's power was unbelievable. He could throw me around effortlessly and I'm over 215 pounds, a life-long athlete, and a thirty-three year veteran in the Chinese martial arts. It has nothing to do with balance. Go study rooting, zhan zhuang and internal arts for twenty years, and then you might have some understanding of where your conceptual lack lies.

@Omegatide I'm suprised by the lack of understanding of human movement by the critics AND the defenders. The human body has systems that keeps us balanced on top of our two legs, otherwise we would still be walking around on all fours. We have an area in which we are balanced, depending on how our legs are positioned, if some part of our body is moved out of this area so the balance is broken then we will move our legs to correct our stance so the balance is regained. This is subcouncious.

@Omegatide wow a shame that one you have no self respect and two you have never had the honor to feel this kind of power...but methinks you really don't deserve it & are better off remaining in darkness. You are an embarrassment to westerners.

I have witnessed grandmaster Wang Chieh in Beijing back in 2007. It was during an International Martial Arts Camp. The grandmaster demonstrated and taught many students from abroad. Both the Chinese and the Westeners. There were other masters there too. Well none of us could move him, it was him who moved us, throw us and put us in joint locks. Amongst the participants were also mix martial arts fighters. We were much younger, we coudln't move him an inch. He is the real deal, and a gentleman.

Chi energy is very much really and is beinning to be excepted by western sciences as bioelectric energy.....im very skeptical of this demonstration and would have to play this man to have a better understanding of his energy. It seems he forgets to pong at times during initial contact...but maybe thats a deversion idk.

this sadly famous akia master does not the same as seen in this video here. the movements and reactions of the students are different, and from my own experience i would say, in this video here we see real chi effects, that cause the students to move in a very typical manner, while the stuff of this akia master seems to me like rubbish and fake. still, i also have doubts like you, who would win in a mma fight. but nevertheless, chi is a real physical, mechanical principle.

Anyone who believes in this garbage needs to look at a real push hands competition.

@Omegatide I don't have a master. When has an MMA fighter ever stepped up to a known Tai Chi "master" as you would call it? Your argument is based off of a fantasy that would never occur. Unlike this video, this actually happens. Slaughtered. Hahaha. Hard external martial arts have been around for centuries. Soft internal martial arts is a way to counter it, even if your muscles aren't as big. It's simple physicas also. You're not even high skill level. You are still elementary.

@dekal1 Go try this stuff with someone besides a "student". If thats your excuse for the jumping, that if they dont the energy will harm them. You are under your "masters" spell. Watch the akia master get slaughtered in a mma fight. He has the same "powers" your master here has over his students.
To be blunt F your master. This is fakery gibberish. Go watch you other fake masters who have the same monkey flying brainwashed gymnest under a trance of their master to do these ridiculous stunts. One challenged anyone to a real fight.....he last 0 seconds. I think he cried too. Dont get me wrong I'm no internet tough guy, I do study martial art, there are many skilled men out there this aint one of them. Good luck on your journey friend.

Thank you for your comment. I am in no position to impose upon the others, and vice versa. You have every right to believe in anything at your free will. The video may seem fake to you, but Mr. Wang is truly a paradigm of Chinese martial arts to his group of students internationally.

@huaihsiang , Do you have no logical reasoning for the hopping and jumping your masters studend performs. I'm no dummy. We can tell when someone is jumping. What cause's one to jump several times after a tech???? Can you answer any questions?
Omegatide 2 years ago
@Omegatide. I do have logical reasoning, and more, intuition. Mr. Chan is no dummy either, he is a professional TKD coach and Chairman of Chen style Taichi association at Taipei. What caused Mr. Chan to move is not force, but what is called "internal force",a dynamic manifestation of the mental force (Chi) , which has been beyond the westerner's comprehension for ages. Again, thank you for your comment.

This is Mr. Wang Chieh's impromptu push hands demonstration with Mr. Hsu Jia Ho, seventh degree TKD instructor, Chairman of Cheng Style Tai Chi and Qigong Association registered with Taipei county government, on Feb 24, 2008 at the age of 83.
