@tippymaster14 Thanks! But I really need more of a life, this is my only hobby...

Interesting commentary-I've wondered a few times about the rotational speed-I recall seeing a statement in my Speer #13 reloading manual for .223 that if light bullets-55grn-are shot from a full length 1:7 barrel, bullets can actually separate in flight due to extreme rotational speed-300,000 rpm!

@johnkshea3 well 800ft lbs is a little bit more than a 10mm at the muzzle, that's pretty damn good.

300 win mags r fuking fun

@aswomnessguy Really are both great rounds I have taken many deer with a 30-06 and I have taken many deer with a .300 win mag! Both have really great ballistics. A 30-06 has alot of stopping power and so does a .300 but a 30-06 has alot less recoil and have less expensive rounds. But a .300 has more range than a 30-06. In my opinion I would rather have a .300 because It will touch a deer out to 1000 yards and drop it right in its tracks! Hope I helped you any!

im only 13, and im deciding on getting a 30-06 or a .300 win mag, i hunt white tail but i havent had a deer get away and i plan to keep it that way, i really want a .300 but judging from its casing compared to the 30-06 i think reloading might be more expensive do to alot more powder, and reloading is a huge deal to me, but i just cant break the fact that the .300 has more "grain selection." I really want my first rifle to be something i like so please help me decide.

@MrDaajman **want something reliable, mistake. cold bore is important to me since on occassion i might be on hunts so its something iam also considering with varying weather conditions, i want to collect valuable consistent data so i plan to reload, i want to get it right the first time.thanks

great shooting, sir have you tried 230gr bergers iam seeing on their page a bc of .743, also intresting numbers on 210gr at .636, i am currently trying to decide between 7mm and 300 win mag, ive shot both from friends but havent got the chance to shoot them at 1000, i am looking into competitions and dont want something reliable at those ranges that i can push further out on occassion. any recommendations would be appreciated.

nice shooting man! father-est ive ever shot with my 300 win was 300 yards. 1000 damn man good god.

@txstang84 another problem can occur with over spinning bullets with the magnus effect basically the bullet wants to act like a top and stand up. in some extreme cases they actually do
-
@johnkshea3 yeh what ever! do you have elevation, bara, temp, ballistic co efficiency exc? do yourself a favor and limit your shooting to 50 yrds or less!

Great shooting mate, it would appear as if a weatherby would be the winner over the remington 700. At least a decant weatherby is affordable and it would appear to be accurate too.
According to ballistics charts, a 180 grain 300 win mag with a muzzle velocity of 3100 ft/sec has only about 800 ft lbs of energy at 1000 yards. A 190 grain at a slower velocity can't have almost twice that like the vid says. Check ur data.

@johnkshea3 The 180 grain you are using with your data is the Spire or Spitzer type projectile, while the 190s I’m using are the match grade hollow-point boat-tail. The ballistic coefficient of your projectiles is usually between .300-.400, while the 190 grain match is .575. With the 190 being heavier, and with its very high BC, it will maintain a much higher velocity at 1,000 yards than the 180. As a result, its kinetic energy is significantly more than the 180 at those distances.

300.000 rpm ?.....no way......
Voidchaser 1 year ago
@Voidchaser Actially it works out to 208,800 RPM, not 300,000.

@mag30th OK....THANKS ....whats the math? its one turn every.......feet? at what speed? help me here! :)
Voidchaser 1 year ago
@Voidchaser N problem, alls good. When I first learned of it I thought the same as you did, 2,900 feet per second, and one revolution of the bullet every 10 inches of forward travel.
