@theaudiophilestore I had different 1971 Runabout and also a 71 hatchback.
Nearly 80% of the Pinto's came with an automatic Transmission so few people realized the potential power in the car.
Headers, re-jetting the the secondary jet on the carb and dumping the terrible VW type distributor for a dual-point mallory would make the car really move.....to the point that you were dying for a 5th gear to go to.
Not smog legal, but ran cleaner in tests!
Easy upgrades also for the suspension.

I don't care what anybody thinks. Pinto's are classic (especially when you load them up with a V-8)! Nothing better for your first car than a Pinto. I know, I had 2 (a 1972 and a 1976). I mean, you could have had a Vega or worse yet an Escort (for those that arrived in the mid-to-late 70's).
