Ridge Runner short field landings with obstacle & take-offs

Slipping over a 50 ft tree line and onto the air strip to do a few short field landings and take-offs with the Ridge Runner. I got it stopped right at the thresh-hold a few times. I could get it slower, but after the slip over the trees, there is a cool patch of air and the plane wants to drop. So I have to keep the speed up when I get out of the slip to prevent dropping onto the ground, but slow enough to get it stopped short.
