someone tell me--and i think i might be mistaken- i am still trying to remember --it was so long ago i visited fort clatsop in oregon--was it a part of the oregon trail--or was it a part of the lewis and clark expedition in the early 1800's--i am puzzled.

Yes, it is, we LOVE Woodie's Songs. We went to see ARLO in RENO & he is singing alot more of his dads stuff, & his sister is starting to go thru the thousands of songs that he wrote, & some are being picked out to be recorded by some artists today like Bob Seager. This has always been a favorite of mine being from OREGON:)

i visited fort clatsop in oregon around 1977-with a college class- i was in my twenties back then-and i was told the oregon trail came through here--it was awesome for me viewing the remnants
ot the travel-but there was log cabins here; too-someone tell me--was fort clatsop a final settlement-or a temporary stop?

Fort Clatsop was for the Lewis & Clark Expedition. It was temporary winter quarters until they returned the following year.
The OREGON TRAIL Officially ended in OREGON CITY.
But of course, everyone branched out from there. :)
Hope that helps:)
