Honda Civic vs 1966 Pontiac GTO at Bandimere.

This was my first run of this year at Bandimere Speedway on 08/24/2008 the car has Full interior, stereo system, alarm system, donut, jack, everything in the same daily driven way except for the slicks tires, the car with me inside weight 2,750 lbs. 11.26@127.50mph.

running those times at elevation is not easy...whats done to the motor? what turbo?

It has a B18c1 engine which had the build done in 2006 and has a t3/t4 Precision SC61 Turbo.

@TurboKings win or lose I'd still rather have the GTO, the torque, the sound, RWD, and the LOOKS. I like all GTO's but that one is beautiful. But that said mad props to your civic it did really well. but I couldn't tell what the times were. I think your civic won but its blurry and my screen isn't the best. Do you remember what the times were?

Thanks man and in that race the GTO did 11.84@111mph and i did 11.26@127mph, and don't get me wrong i love cars, just cause i have a Honda it means that is the only kind of cars that i like, oh hell no!. That GTO was one of the best looking cars that day and running a time like that.

I give TurboKings and the Honda credit too. It takes a lot of work to make a car run like that. I am a Pontiac/GTO fan but respect all who stick themselves under the hood. I think you would appreciate seeing what happens when turbos are added to a REAL Pontiac motor (as opposed to those crappy turbo 4.9s Pontiac made in the 80s)... check out Rodney Butlers Tempest in the video 'World's Fastest Pontiac 6.27 @ 228mph' Different level of car but cool nonetheless.

I'll give the Honda props, but in the end "there are no substitutes for cubic inches". Not to mention the "goat" started it all back in '64 when Honda wasn't even a lawnmower. Some cars will be icons forever. You'll always remember the GTO.:-) One of GM's most successful cars, and they drop the line, go figure?? Government Motors..

@TurboKings if you think thats fast my buddy has a full interior gto that runs 9s on a 408 and procharger and my other friend runs high 10s full interior t3/t4 b5 audi s4 build both street driven
