Thousands of Sikhs came together to welcome the Jagriti Yatra which ever corner of India the holy yatra reached. The Jagriti Yatra kicked off from Nanded on November 15, 2007 on the eve of Simran Divas, a day when millions of Sikhs across the globe came together for the beginning of a year long celebration of the 300th year of the consecration of Sri GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI. The yatra was convened as a part year long celebration, '300 Saal Guru De Naal', to commemorate 300 years of Gurta Gaddi, which was celebrated in October 2008 at Nanded. Gurta Gaddi marks the anniversary of consecration of Sri Guru Granth Sahibji as the eternal Guru.
The Rath carrying the 300 year old shastars (weapons) of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj and other Sikh martyrs along with puratan hast-likhit Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji l travelled across India for darshan for the Sikh devouts. The Jagriti Yatra connectted devotees across India spreading the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and celebrating 300 Saal, Guru De Naal.
