Pro-X Games Waterfront

The Pro-X games held at the Waterfront on the 7th and 8th of February 2009, Cape Town, South Africa. These games were also shot on a Sony Z1 in HDV.

This video was shot with a 16mm Bolex H16 Reflex film camera on Kodak 50D negative film at 64 frames per second. The footage was played back at 24fps on an Eiki Xenon projector and the output was filmed using a Sony Z1 in HDV. The output was inverted and colour graded, partial colour grading was performed by adding blue filters to the projector.

The original video, original video inverted and original video inverted after colour correction are included at the end of the video.

Mistakes made : Two 100ft reels were used, the second reel was shot with an un-secured film backing plate, which resulted in some loss of focus.
Things that could have been done better : Use a proper projector screen, use a vacuum cleaner to prevent bugs from flying onto the projection wall, use proper blue filters instead of tinted wrapping paper, use tighter threading on the projector.
