In the 1980s there was a program on PBS about developing computerized medical diagnostic programs. But now we have $300 computers that are more powerful than those mainframes from the 80s. Where are those diagnostic programs to put on these great computers? When do we even hear about them now?

43:00 the first real doctor who discusses ways to cut cost using preventitive medicine is on the spot. its alot better to treat patients before they are sick using risk factor data instead of waiting till they need quadruple bypass surgery. if the new plan is anything like canada's, you will have to wait for treatment depending on severity and nothing will be taking care of in its early forms, especially heart disease or cancer and in the long run it will cost more money to treat.
