@jabangun yes bhp is the same as hp. Learner version you speak of will be just the original bike with a restricter kit on it I imagine all it does is limit how fast it will go. But thanks I will more than likely be getting a er6n

@wardy92 i don't know much about the gsr 600 but I think it might be more than 33 bhp. Btw is bhp the same as hp? Er6n has about 73 hp in full power mode. Here is Oz you can get the learner version which has a limiter/restriction to lower the power. I am 5ft10" and 85 kg and the er is perfect. A friend of mine is on the heavy side and he now owns a z1000 but had a ninja 250r for learners and it was ok for him.

@jabangun which bike would you recommend for me? im about 5ft 9" quite a heavy guy (put politely) im torn between the er6n and the suzi gsr600. It will be restricted to 33bhp until september due to my age under the traffic laws in the UK.

i used to have the er-6n last year and as my second bike going from a suzuki rg125 to the 650, i must say that it is a great bike. since i'm 18 this year, i've gone for something better, 08 zx10. the 650 has good acceleration and it manages to power wheelie when changing into second and into third but thats when i'm completely thrashing the bike

That must be the the guys first bike for it to be such a bad run. The er6 has to row through 2 gears to get to 75 when the 600 will do it in first.

Good race, the CBR rider needed a bit more time on the bike to get used to the speeds and power. The ER6N was a lot more confident in those department, that's why he won. All in all a fair race in rider aspects.
And yes, riders play a bigger role then the bikes themselves. I've seen 600's walk 1000's because of riders not being able to handle the power. And this is in a straight line race. Not everyone riding is a pro.
I believe this is not a fake video nor was the CBR 600 not using it's full power.
Of course under one condition: The Er-6n had a head start a few seconds.
See, simple explanation.
And yes, the ER-6n is not an apple-to-apple comparison with the CBR 600. If you want to compare then use the ZX-6R.
Btw, I own a ER-6n and use it for touring and commuting. Try to go on a 10 hour touring with a CBR 600 (or ZX-6R!) and be prepared to visit a chiropractor. :-)

I have a 2001 cbr 600 f sport and really like this kawa in particular but they cannot compete in a straight line ever! I do not want to offend anyone here but 4 cilinder with 120 HP against 2 cil and 72 hp? two very very good bikes but with different purpouses.
