@Komnenit I grew up in a communist country.Communism Never again !!! Murderers, dictators, haters of freedom, destroyers of culture. Economy declined from 1960 to 1989 continuously,we had less every year that passed the country was poorer as time went by, the universal medical care was degrading, workers had jobs but produced nothing, the jobs were disguised unemployment because what was produced was needed by no one and what was needed was not produced. This is all from personal memories.

What is that platform for that the guy who screams is getting off of at around 1:30? This is in West Berlin so I wouldn't think it would be a guard tower or anything similar. Thanks for anyone who can help.

There was buildt many towers like this along the wall, simply for the purpose to let curious people look over to the eastern side.
btw. there was no watch-towers, border or passenger control on the western side at all, simply because West-Germany never formally accepted the existence of the border between BRD and DDR.
