Returning for 2010 was the KWVR's Autumn Steam Gala which was replaced by a Summer Steam Gala in 2009 following the success of the 40th Anniversary Celebrations held in the Summer of 2008. The Autumn Steam Gala this year was expected to be a truely brilliant event, 3 visiting engines were annouced and an intense timetable however one engine was pulled out by its owner, the other main visitor arrived the wrong way round and could not be turned with ease as it was to heavy for a bridge leading to Keighley's Turntable and there is not suitable place to turn a loco around using low loaders on the Railway so it was stuck facing North while the rest ran facing the usual South.
Dispite the issues with visiting engines and the damp and dark start to my day at the gala I had a brilliant time! Locomotives in action on my visit were
|BR Standard 5MT Class 73129 (Visiting from the Midland Railway Butterley, unique member of the 5MT survivors as its the only one to carry the Caprotti Valve Gear)
|BR Standard 4MT Class 80002
|WD 8F 2-8-0 Class 90733
|BR Ivatt 2MT Class 41241
|LMS 3F Jinty Class 47279
|L&Y 'Ironclad' Class 957
|Haydock Foundry No. C 'Bellrophon' (Owned by Vintage Carriage Trust at Ingrow West however currently resident on the Foxfield Railway)
|Hudswell Clarke No. 1704 'Nunlow'
|Also LMS 5MT 'Black Five' Class 44871 was due to visit but was rushed to scotland to assist workings up there with fellow black five 45407, also owned by Ian Riley.
Like I said before I really enjoied my day at the KWVR, I thought it was nice to see a big locomotive like 73129 face North rather than South for a change. Over the day I did a large amount of riding various trains aswell as filming some from stations or other locations, list of shots in the video is below:
- 73129 arrives into Keighley on the goods train from Keighley sidings
- 73129 runs around the freight ready for the run to Oxenhope
- 73129 departs Keighley on the Goods
- 957 arrives into Keighley on the first train of the day from Oxenhope
- 80002 departs Haworth on the first Oxenhope train of the day from Keighley
- 73129 arrives into Haworth with its first passenger train of the day
- 73129 departs Oakworth, heading for Keighley
- 957 charges up Oakworth bank arriving into the station
- 73129 storms past Haworth sheds with an Oxenhope Service
- 73129 nears Haworth on the return run from Oxenhope, heading for Keighley
- A triple header formed of 90733, 41241 and 47279 departs Haworth for Keighley
- 80002 & 73129 climb the gradient into Haworth Station with a train from Keighley
- 47279 heads a freight working past Ingrow West Yard and 1704 Nunlow, being banked by Ivatt 41241
- 41241 returns the freight past Ingrow West Yard heading for Keighley, with 47279 on the rear
- 80002 steams through Ingrow West on the Non-Stop Keighley - Haworth - Oxenhope express
- 73129 arrives into Ingrow West
- 73129 deafens Keighley as it departs from the Station (Seen from the Train)
- 90733 climbs the final few yards of the Line into Oxenhope (taken from the footcrossing by the Coach Sheds

I was there saturday too! my first visit to KWVR and we had a top quality day. Managed to ride behind all the locos & toured the engine sheds too (had to go in just to see the Bullied tucked away in the corner). 73129 sounded well good, we had no trouble hearing it from the rear of the train lol. A great line up of locos with a lot of slipping out of Keighley for extra entertainment too, we will definitely be visiting again. A great video as usual with some well thought out shots, nice one.

This is the first gala I've missed since the early nineties. I am a member of the line but didn't go because the visitor was facing the wrong way. It's a long way to go to get shots of engines you've seen hundreds of times before.

@7822welshsteam shame you didn't go just for that reason mate, I mean would of been nice to get some unusual photos/video of a loco into keighley, ah well
