the GTO's - The Ghost Chained To The Past, Present, And Future (Shock Treatment)

i see all the people i want to see
i be all the people i want to be
and find all the treasures i want to find
along with the images, they're so unkind

shock treatment, oh let me go-oh
shock treatment, oh let me go-oh
shock treatment, oh let me go-oh
shock treatment, oh let me go-oh

The GTOs were a "groupie group" that consisted of Miss Pamela (Pamela Des Barres), Miss Sparky (Linda Sue Parker), Miss Lucy, Miss Christine (Christine Frka), Miss Sandra (Sandra Leano), Miss Mercy and Miss Cynderella. The group hailed from the area around Los Angeles in the late 1960s, with most of the girls being denizens of the Sunset Strip scene.
Originally known as "The Laurel Canyon Ballet Company", they changed their name to The GTOs on the advice of Frank Zappa, their financial supporter and producer. "GTOs" was an acronym for the full band name "Girls Together Outrageously", but at one time the 'O' could stand for a variety of words, such as 'Openly', 'Only' etc. Performances by the group were sparse, although they created a strong impression at their 1968 performance at the Shrine Auditorium. A mix of theatrics, off-key singing and dance were staples of their act. Their only album, Permanent Damage, was produced in 1969 by Frank Zappa and Lowell George.

Frank Zappa - Producer
Jeff Beck - Guitar

  • Amazing :]

  • @reldditmot Outrageously, Occasionally, Only, Openly, Overtly. ;)

  • FUCKING JEFF BECK!!!!!!!

  • Does anyone remember them playing with Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention at The Shrine Exposition Hall? That was Alice cooper's Debut night as well.I think Black Pearl and Fleetwood Mac,without bitches, were there too.It cost $2 to get in.Started at 8:00 and didn't stop till 2 am or so. Was anyone else there that night?

  • Zappa produced them. Enough said.

  • @cynthiacher Yea same here..this is the 1st song I heard of them but they're not bad n don't refer 2 them as sluts. Btw they wrote most of their music but as poems not as songs.

  • @xxx1v3tt3xxx I'd heard of them but never heard any of the stuff they recorded. So I watched a few of the videos featuring them out of curiousity. And come to find out they were as awful as you would expect a bunch of druggie, tone-deaf sluts to be. That's how I came to comment here, not that I need to offer any explanation to you or anybody else.
