This was around August 1969. Marilyn and Bill had been married for about a month by then.
The record was a hit for 3 weeks during July of 1969.

I saw them perform with the Florida Symphony Orchestra in May '89 in Orlando with my girlfriend at the time. I thought SHE was the one, too! She ended it with me because she wasn't ready after ending a bad five-year relationship. I understood. I'd just ended a bad four-year relationship/marriage as well. I find it funny. She ended it with me, wanted to get back together after I met my future wife (wife now), and ended up marrying a guy with the same personality as I have.

Marilyn and Billy always had fun with this song. When they heard Laura Nyro's orignial, they KNEW they had do it, since they were engaged to be married. They did get married in 1969 and are still married today.

I do see it a bit but Marilyn is so very naturally beautiful that comparing her to Julia doesn't do her justice. (I never did understand the hype over Julia)
