I too have searched far and wide, high and low for this beautiful work. Finally now I have access to music that will give tremendous enjoyment to opera lovers everywhere.

I beg to differ. His so-called "dissonance quartet" (K465) is a great example. It was so chromatic that later composers and arrangers offered "corrected" versions of it years later until people finally understood the original.

Mozart was not a revolutionary. From today's perspective his music does seem less interesting than Mozart's and thus "old-fashioned" and in general MOzart was definitely more talented but Mozart composed in (and fits very well into) the late-classical tradition and was not an innovator but a superb master of a craft developped by others (Haydn, for instance).

Salieris Musik ist viel größer als sein Bekannheitsgrad es leider ist. Ein Vergleich mit Mozart erübrigt sich aus dem Grunde, als beide zwar zeitgleich schufen, jedoch jeder eine andere Ausdrucksart hat. Mozart ist "weicher und großräumiger", Salieri "härter und enger " in der Melodik. Ich kann es nicht besser formulieren. Beide sind großartig, jeder in seiner Art ! Thanks for this fine musik !
