***Read Before Viewing*** To clarify the apparent non-relevance, I must say this; It's relevant because in most of the song it is stating how Yellowstone is relevant to myself on a personal level . In the last 4 lines before the second chorus [ 2:40 to 3:05 ] it states how I feel towards a girl I have a crush on, which is subsequently totally irrelevant to the video or subject. But after the 2nd chorus it balances that by a set of lines which is extremely relevant to the video itself.
By the way, the only rights I actually own to these media are private rights. But this is only a large tribute to the great 'National Geographic Channel's terrific show 'Naked Science' and it's 2nd episode 'Super Volcanoes', the brilliant 'British Broadcasting Corporation's spectacular television docufiction film 'Supervolcano' and the amazingly expressive band 'Eel's beautifully peaceful song 'The Longing' all in one combined video. I only used my compiling skills in making the video. I hope that the B.B.C, N.G.C & the band Eels consider this as what it's intended to be; a tribute and a promotion to their fantastic work.

This video essentially tells the story of an eruption of the 'Yellowstone' Supervolcano, also explained below;
Earthquakes rock the area surrounding and overlying the supervolcano as magma pushes up on the crust. Geysers explode as heat created by the volcano increases, and hydrothermal activity intensifies. Land deformation destabilizes the rock strata for miles, causing landslides, some of which resulting in mega-tsunamis. The weak rock then let's the viscous, gaseous magma through, and when it erupts the gases violently escape and rapidly combust, resulting in an explosive eruption. This is vented out through a giant ring of volcanic vents called a 'ring fracture' where the vents merged into one ring-shaped vent. After ejecting a total of 2,500 cubic kilometers of magma the pressure decreases & the eruptive vents collapse unleashing pyroclastic density currents across the region. But Yellowstone, inside the ring fracture, falls in on the magma chamber and slams into it. The magma chamber rebounds and the remaining 22,500 cubic kilometers of magma left is depressurized. This results in a giant explosion which pulverizes the Earth's upper crust in the area of destabilized rock strata, an area which extends a total of 100 to 200 kilometers from the Yellowstone National Park's boundaries. The magma is obviously also pulverized, and the great volume of the resulting 'volcanic ash' [glassy fragments of rock 1 10th of a millimeter wide] is dumped across the U.S, crushing tens of millions as roofs collapse. Hundreds of millions die a lasting painful death as volcanic ash destroys their lungs & their bones grow excessively as the lungs can't control bone growth hormones, stretching the flesh & skin in the long,excruciatingly painful process of catastrophic lung failure. And as a haze of hydrogen sulphide acid released by the eruption spreads across the high atmospheric levels of the planet, [not depicted] it cools the planet by blocking out sunlight, killing most crops. And through massive crop failure caused by the sulphur haze, the supervolcano kills 99.9 % of the remaining billions through agonizing starvation, lasting months, or even years as the resulting food rations fall short of providing proper nutrition for the human body. The world is also cooled to the level to which the ice age in our 'geologically near future' is triggered thousand of years early, resulting in the extinction of many species. The ice age lasts tens of thousands of years, and we as a race may not come out the other side.
