I've watched Hak5 on and off since the beginning, but I had no idea you had a bike! How did a bike nut like me never notice?

Wow so this was all done on a tiny Creative Labs Vado HD 720p Pocket Video Camcorder with 8 GB Video Storage and 2x Digital Zoom (Black). Like 100 dollar range camera? That fits inside a standard helmet with just a little velcro? I couldn't remember the name of that camera. Amazing cost effective solution.

This reminds me of two other solo motorcycle films Robert E. Fulton Jr. 1932 twice upon a caravan and more recently Gaurav Jani's, Riding Solo To The Top Of The World. Of course interceptor monkey does he count as a b%$&h rider?

Darren, how u doing?
Look, i've been looking for the show i mentioned before, and nothing. Well, in fact, i got some information (very little) from the Nat Geo web but in spanish, nothing in english. The show is named 'El Mundo sobre Ruedas' something like 'The world on (or over) wheels', but i didn't find anything under that name... Anyway, look for it and tell me what you think. Bye!

lol ... I remember my f-zero days and kept riding over the arrows hoping to get an energy boost !

very good darren :) but kinda annoying though (not in a horrible way don't worry) i mean as a motovlogger watching this i can see the thought put into your video editing and camera angles showing through straight away and is clearly more creative than head forward on bike vlogging (clearly your experience in broadcasting shining through)
really good job :)
i think a few of us can learn a bit from these videos of yours if i'm honest, keep em coming :D

I mean no disrespect to the motovlogging community and I really don't want to step on any toes. I know this isn't your traditional pop-a-camera-in-your-helmet video but honestly the effort put into it is quite similar when you get down to it.
I just wanted to stretch my editing capabilities and have fun learning and experimenting with the medium.
I'll have to do a video breaking down the narrative formula, recording and editing techniques.

Geez Darren - GPS? You'd be dead riding my way with a paper Atlas and dead reckoning using sun position and such. I''ve never gotten lost and I've been through 47 of the 48 continental states, on bike, car. pickup and heavy truck. Regardless of your techno-dependance though you have to admit getting out with the bugs and tree frogs is a nice change from civilization.

What I didn't show in the video was my backup paper map sealed in a water tight plastic in my tank bag. Just in case. But if you've got the technology why not use it? Though I address my mixed feelings about "following the pink line" in the next installment of this series.
