The staff are kind, courteous, and knowledgable! Whatever she does not have on the shelf she can get usually within a week or so! And I mean everything from Hair Care to acess to trips to Eygpt! If you are new to the neighborhood or if you have been in Chicago for years ..THIS PLACE IS NOT TO BE MISSED! You can meet everybody from who's who to your favorite authors, historians, anthropologists, spiritualist, and connect to a thriving network of everybody for everything you need!

Aight yall to say that this is a cool place would be the understatement of the century LOL!! Not only is this a bookstore but it is a cultural mecca! Over the last few years my daughter and I have attended countless events, lectures, drum circles, book club, parties, Kwanza, Black History Month celebrations, tutoring services and have networked beyond beliefe. My favorite bookstore. Great art, books, music, and pleasant fragrances in the air. The bottle of juice she mentions is very refreshing too.
