    What is honestly disturbing to me is this is now called "alternative" country... It's called this because it's 'diverges' from the mainstream pop country of today. This is "Classic" country! My undying gratitude to this band for keeping a tradition that so many others had thrown away, alive!

    If you say you don't like country music then stop listening to the shit on the radio and start listening to stuff like Son Volt, Wilco, Jayhawks....tons of great stuff out there..real music for real people.

    I agree completely Mike. Most modern country is crap. It's mostly cut from a template. ...I ride a John Deere tractor...I drink Bud....I ride a pick-up truck. Who gives a shit. All the bands you mentioned are great, although I need to give Wilco more of a listen. Off the top of my head I would add Otis Gibbs and Old Crow Medicine Show.

    Quite possibly the best song I have ever heard. REAL country music. A midwestern feel with southern roots. Fantastic lyrics as well. Living life for the experience, whether it be melancholy or bittersweet. Jay Farrar is the most underrated musician I know of.
