Rider was lucky he wasn't in my state. Hitting someone from behind makes it your fault. Watch it frame by frame: drivers view was blocked by van (second vehicle behind), had signal on and was turned enough so the mirrors would not show the approaching bike. Rider could see turning minivan (legal by the way as was explained below) 3 vehicles back so should have been able to stop.....unless riding too fast for conditions (another violation in my state). This is why splitting isnt allowed elsewhere

AHHHH HA HA HA.... well done, car !!!
-
lane splitting unless in emergency uses only makes any biker look bad

I agree with what omega19s is saying, you should be able to stop at any point. Had this rider been going 10 MPH, i guarantee you his front tire would not have come out of the bike after the crash!!!!

just so you know, the carpool cross was 100% legal, because there is a solid white line inside the carpool lane, so drivers can GET OUT OF, but not INTO the carpool lane. I rode a motorcycle everyday for 2 years in the streets of L.A. i split lanes like crazy, and i used to get so mad when a car would change lanes in front of me, but the truth is, i was an idiot back then, lane splitting IS dangerous, there is a reason it's illegal in many states...

To all the people that are in cages stfu with the its his fault bs. she did not check her mirrors nor was he driving illegally. they arent attentive to motorcycles at all these days. glad your alrite tho bro.

No cars cannot cross the double yellow. No lane splitting is not legal in CA when traffic is moving. You can only do it when traffic is stopped, such as at red lights. I can clearly see in your video that traffic was moving (yes slowly, but still moving) so if I was a judge, I wouldn't have made the guy that hit you pay you a dime.

And the worst part is that you're at fault too huh?

to all the idiots saying hes going to fast... the video is sped up in that beginning part. if you cant see that then please abstain from your stupid comments.
TOO FAST!!!!!! filtering/lane splitting should be done at a speed where you can,if needed stop at any point...you have nobody to blame but yourself/the rider for hitting the street head first

People saying his going to fast, go re-watch the video and you'll notice his just got behind it when shes decided to turn without looking in her mirrors. He could have been going 2 mph and still got hit. Not to mention road laws about not crossing double yellow lines.
