Interviewing the principal. Poor Steve, I gave the guy a list of twenty questions and told him to wing the rest. You'll notice he rose to the occasion as any seventeen year old would have. Mr. Locke, in hindsight, was a worthy adversary--he let us get away with a remarkable number of things that other principals, especially today, probably would have sent us to prison for.

Notice how his tone changes when he gets to explaining the Kansas State Science Assessment Test. He was talking to at least two of the students responsible for deep-sixing the tests inaugural year and he knew it. I will remind you: prison, kids.

Notice how Corey staunchly and powerfully remains at his post in spite of all odds. "Tech" indeed.
