The mock Council of the European Union event - organised by the British Council, the European Commission Office and the FCO - provides an insight into how the EU takes decisions on issues that affect us all.

3 students from 29 schools will get lots of opportunities to practice their public speaking and negotiation skills. Theyll be taking part in debates on 3 topical issues - food safety, climate change and migration.

  • i love the european union but then again so does everybody more or less in the uk for what its given us and all of europe - 50 years of peace, prosperity and freedom

  • A mock council of Europe for a mock democracy.

    A fitting tribute?

  • but i suppose it resulted in a conviction as she was guilty, would have been worse if she wasn't!

  • yea but comon. Karen Matthews brought about a police case costing 3 Million of taxpayers money. Were never gunna get that back are we. Put some perspective on it. I do agree with you about the war though.

  • i bet there were many man-hours of the taxpayers wasted, that could used, like getting our troops out of mr bliars war.

  • Almost nothing, so get back to your Daily Mail and don't worry your little head.

  • So are you still sure you want to conplain about the spending of maybe a few hundred pounds on a project that was actually benificial to many people when quite clearly there are greater wastes you could be complaining about.

    Thanks.

  • generally waste peoples time.

And finally - Let us consider the cost of the day and your "wasted money". Perhaps 500 pounds in foor and drink and then a normal days work for the attending staff. • I would like to argue that point.

Firstly - I was there and I found it an extremely good use of our time and found it was a good event, well organised, to engage the youth in modern international politics. It was effective in motivating us to become involved in politics and I dare say that many people that attended will end up in government.

Secondly - I would like to question why you are browsing videos like this one when you clearly are just trying to pick a fight and
