Paper Mario Side Scrolls: "Fountain Pen Mountain" (Fanmade Theme)

"Paper Mario Side Scrolls" is my imagined 4th Paper Mario adventure! It's a side-scrolling adventure that literally takes place ON a paper scroll, appropriately enough. Mario is drawn ONTO the page while the action leaps off the page!

It's a story of 8 mystical 'side scrolls' that once told an important story but have suddenly been wiped blank by an unknown force... Mario in full 3D uncovers the documents and uses Toadsworth's magic to jump into the first scroll... and the action literally unravels in front of him.

Mario is given a set of art tools (including pencil-and-eraser, paintbrush, scissors, pen, paintballs, glue, origami skills etc) that help him navigate through the unfolding story in dynamic ways, such as cutting up a piece of the scroll and gluing the strip from one scroll to another acting as a pathway. All of this would be done using Wii Motion Plus controls.

Fountain Pen Mountain is the fourth chapter, on the fourth scroll, and is where Mario uncovers the pen tool. I added visuals from Crag in Super Paper Mario purely cos they seemed the most relevant. It's a shame I couldn't get a music-free version so that the sound effects would come through. Ohwell. Hope you all enjoy :)

That is actually paper, which for some reason has not actually played a major role in the other games. WHY??

Your idea for Paper Mario Side Scrolls story plot and weapons are sort of similiar to Epic Mickey. Epic Mickey uses a paint brush and a paint "eraser" or "thinner" to destroy bad guys and paint all the houses glorious instead of gloomy.

@FlytrapStudios No worries mate: I actually own and love all three Paper Mario soundtracks, but the third one just appeals to me slightly more, especially the type of MIDI and recorded sound mixtures used.

@BowieZ Super Paper Mario did have some good tracks for sure, but if you've ever heard PPMTTYD (Paper Mario 2) the way they create atmosphere with background noises is very nice. And if you haven't heard that X-Naut fortress theme yet, you've missed out on something amazing.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm raving, but this music largely influenced my composing style. =)

Paper Mario Side Scrolls is somewhat a Mario Version of Drawn To Life...but still realy good idea!! Realy good music!!
