@Lcromes Umm and it matters who stole what first why?? The point is the stuff is stolen. Have a nice night. )O(

@draghynmystress It was actually the Roman Catholics who stole from Paganism, Christians, as they were first set up in the New Testament, are not quite the same thing as Roman Catholics. Catholics are a watered down, borrowed version of Christianity and Paganism combined. I do not personally consider it very true as far as religion is concerned.

I'm afraid I don't care for this version.

Where can I purchase this song? I can't find it online anywhere.

There's lots of wishful historical revisionism going on here. Christianity did not come from paganism, it used pagan symbols to teach pagans because that was what they were familiar with. It's just good pedagogy. St. Patrick (according to legend) used the shamrock to illustrate the Trinity, but we do not say that the doctrine of the Trinity comes from Shamrockism. These symbols represent entirely different things in Christianity and paganism. It's what's beneath the symbol that matters.

@CelticMusings )O( I am blessed to be a Priestess of the Goddess with a best friend who is of the Christian faith who recognizes the fact that her religion has taken from mine and she strives to understand more about how that [Christians taking from paganism] came about.

@KaptKan1 (2) When Odin flew by he would leave gifts or candy in exchange for the food the Children left.

@KaptKan1 (1) Actually Saint Nicholas lends only partially to the Santa Claus figure. Santa Claus is a combination of the Holly King, Saint Nicolas, Odin, Sinterklaas, Father Christmas, and Woden. The myths of the God Odin are much older than Saint Nicholas. Mythology tells us that Odin would ride his 8 legged deer named Sleipnir through the sky leading a hunting party. Children would stuff their boots with carrots, sugar or straw and leave them by the chimney for Sleipnir.

@Prancer1231 Jeez, it's Celtic. How the hell is Celtic "witchy"? How do you think this song sounded two hundred years ago? You are a fool. And so what if it is witchy? Are you showing religious discrimination because that isn't exactly in keeping with the holiday spirit, you know.

This is pure music. With words we can understand.

@Prancer1231
personally I don't really like all of the fast spritely christmas music. I much prefer the mystical and mysterious.. :) Thanks for your input!
