WHOAH.
I play trombone as my secondary instrument, flute as my first - the tone in this vid is AMAZING. there are no gaps between the notes at ALL. WHoah.

The way that you make first chair is to be the best in your section. I am not saying that your video lied, but to me personally, it was a little misleading. Thanks anyway

So my question is, no offense to this player, but who cares about making "first" chair? Does that make you a better musician just because you're first chair, and everyone else in the other positions somehow inferior? I believe that every position in a band or orchestra needs an adequate player, not just on principal or "first" chair. If anything, better players are needed on lower parts simply because having a firm foundation is equally important than a screaming loud lead player.

@JPSaxMan The title is more about the attitude you take and always doing your best...the book is very clear about the musical experience being the most important. I agree with you. Thanks for stopping by.

Would you recommend this book for a trombone player that's in 10th grade and has been playing for 3 going on 4 years? Cause I am that player and interested in this book. What do you think?
