  • So my question is, no offense to this player, but who cares about making "first" chair? Does that make you a better musician just because you're first chair, and everyone else in the other positions somehow inferior? I believe that every position in a band or orchestra needs an adequate player, not just on principal or "first" chair. If anything, better players are needed on lower parts simply because having a firm foundation is equally important than a screaming loud lead player.

  • @JPSaxMan The title is more about the attitude you take and always doing your best...the book is very clear about the musical experience being the most important. I agree with you. Thanks for stopping by.

  • Would you recommend this book for a trombone player that's in 10th grade and has been playing for 3 going on 4 years? Cause I am that player and interested in this book. What do you think?

  • Absolutely 100%
