  • My great-great-uncle (grandfather's uncle) was aboard the Utah when it was attacked.

  • @TheAprylMae Did he survived the attack? Because if i am right not all people aboard died during the attack..

  • @Memorial4Ships He did. And lived to a ripe old age. But missing a leg.

  • @TheAprylMae Wow!.. Thanks for watching this movie, and for your comments!

  • Very nice, esp. the music, which is much better than the incongruous rock tunes most people have on videos of older subjects.

  • @genrail1

Thanks genrail1, your right, in my opinion rock tunes don't fit, like you said video's of older subjects. Again thanks for your comment.

  • My grandfather was on the Utah durring the bombings in Pearl Harbor. He swam to shore and then became a frogman after desplaying his skill of holding his breath for long periods of time.

  • My father served on the Utah around 1938 while she was a target ship. The Utah had a small crew then, just enough to run the ship. Pop told me that his days on the Utah were the best days he had while in the Navy.

  • My father, a young jg at the time, was KIA in the attack, while trying to move his men to safety. Visit ussutah.org, please.

  • God Bless Them All!! May you all rest in peace :)

  • My grandfather joined the USS Utah in July of 1941. He used to tell me that he would often say to himself, while they were engaged in gunnery and bombing (sand and water bombs) drills: "It's a heck of a good thing we're not in a war because those Navy pilots couldn't hit a durn thing." He managed to get off the ship on December 7th wearing nothing but his skivvies and soon joined up with the USS Honolulu for the balance of the war.

  • lol nice. apparently if you go to pearl harbor you can still hear the ghosts of the dead sailors knocking on the rusting hull, begging to a rescue that will never come ...

  • USS Utah does not get much attention like the other ships that were present at Pearl Harbor. If you think about it she took hits that may have gone to other more important ships. She should be remembered equally as the others.
