Karl Rove and his like keep preaching deficits, but if memory has it, I somewhat remember a $900 billion dollar surplus when Clinton left town. They (GOP) don't want to remember what happened to that. I'm 59 years old and have seen a lot, but I really learned right after the 2000 election (or appointment-however you want to remember it) that there really isn't any such thing as a deficit. It's GREED!! We could have fixed many problems with the Bush tax cuts. Instead, we submit to this crap.

In case the people clapping Karl Rove has forgotten, IT WAS THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION HE WORKED IN that DOUBLED THE US DEBT from 5.5 trillion to 11 trillion in 8 years and took a surplus in 2000 and turned it to a DEFICIT OF 1.5 TRILLION dollars per year thanks to the TAX CUTS and the 2 WARS the GOP took the US into.

If GOP policies are so great WHY DID THE US BROUGHT THE WHOLE WORLD INTO A FINANCIAL CRASH????

@jacobew2000 I know that is not what caused the housing crisis because I saw it in action. The banks were pushing those loans far beyond what congress had asked them to provide because it was profitable to them to do so. The testimony of many bank regulators who saw this stands against what you have said. It was profitable because of the repeal of Glass-Steagal. Whether Clinton signed it or not, these people knew they were bilking people to make money. SHAMEFUL!!
