@Garlandfan94 Let's put it this way, it wouldn't even occur to a straight man to house Judy, supply her booze and pills, even have intercourse with her, for the reward of having her as a performing pet past her prime, record her, and save those recordings as a squirrel would store chestnuts for later. My problem is not with gays in general, only those who enabled Judy in her self-destruction, then claim to have helped her. Nothing I could say could get the point across better than this video.

Awful. And everyone who supplied her with drugs the last 12 months of her life should have been brought up on manslaughter charges. My feelings are not so generous with those who claimed to have tried to help her. This includes her opportunistic last husband, and her coterie of flaming admirers. You don't poison someone you really love, even if that person wants poison.

@Garlandfan94 There's no denying that Judy sought out and encouraged relationships with gay men, and I have to agree with Lorna that these men fed off her insecurities and problems and plied her with outrageous flattery, non-stop attention and false romance. I'm not saying these things killed her, and certainly Judy chose her own unhealthy lifestyle. But this video is a perfect example of where things would wind up, and why.

I have always had a soft spot for that particular number. It is really amazing that John has these recordings and things he saved from the very brief encounter he had with her. How lucky he was to have spent time with someone so profound ( even if it meant nothing to her in the end). She had needs and he happened to be there, but how incredible is it that John has these sound bytes some 40 years later! They are priceless.
