This is my short take on the RNC Convention and speeches of Tuesday, September 2, 2008. I hold that the Republican Party presented at the RNC does not represent America.
The convention consists of a part of America -- older, white, and mostly male -- and it's entirely focused on the war or matters related to it, at a time when we need to pay attention to rebuilding Amerca.
i did not like Senator Fred Thompson's speech, though I have the greatest respect for him. The surge did not work. It's that simple. What's true is that we have killed more than 80,000 iragi civilians and wrecked the culture of that nation.
Senator Joe Liberman stood up and comitted political suicide tonight. He attacked the Democrats and Senator Barack Obama, who Senator Liberman asked to help him in 2006, and Barack did so.

Now, Liberman's stabbing him in the back.

The Republicans have seemed to forget the plight of the working person.

  • Did you take into account All the Blunts burning in the room? Could have been the problem!

  • this brother was right on all points. the troops that were withdrawn during bush`s mission accomplished three year phase were back roaming the streets they destroyed, and they call it a surge? , no it didn`t work.

  • "The surge didn't work"..

Care to retract that statement now that general-turned-statesman Colon (misspelling intentional) makes a speech saying "not only was it effective, it should have been done earlier?"

You look at the audiences at an RNC and draw your viewpoint? Making comments about a man's coughing? Are you slow? Any original thoughts in that head? Liberals are all the same.. ugly or odd people with an inferiority complex. I think you were all teased as kids. Oreo.

  • Obama forgived Joe again...he's a better man than I am. I don't know if I could be that forgiving but I do admire him for it.

  • It's been forever since this video was posted, but I want to thank you Zennie62 for not diving in and tearing apart the tribute to Mike Monsoor. One commentator on here (now gone apparently) did this. The tribute to Medal of Honor winner, Mike Monsoor, should at least be left to stand as a wonderful act; and not some target of petty political sniping. Again, thank you.

  • well everybody get rdy for socialism in 18 days

  • Yes, till this day the Repubs have a lockhold on Dixie!!!!No other region is like this even the liberal west cost and northeast has a mixture of conservatives, independents, and liberals, or no-ones.

  • What has McCain done for conservatives? He is not a conservative.

  • That's because the South is full or rednecks,Religious zealots (hippocrites), and lilies.

  • Memo to the Republican Party: You are a party of European-Americans.

McCain is the poster boy for amnesty for illegal aliens. He didn't oppose affirmative action (or mention Rev. Wright) and he surrounded himself with neoconservative advisors with a long history of allegiance to Israel. For his efforts he received 30%, 5%, and 20%, respectively, of the Hispanic, black, and Jewish vote.
