Thank you for posting this. The Meteor pilot was my dad. I was 8 when this happened so didn't really get what had happened. My husband found the footage today. Its something I never really wanted to see, but am glad I have had the opportunity to. I've always been so proud of him and flying really was his greatest passion.

Shit happens! Luckily enough there are lots MORE of both a/cs still flying!
I seem to recall the BBC had better quality footage in their report, as I guess their Airshow '86 crew were there. Not seen that since it was aired. I remember it showed shots of the crash sites too. The Vintage Pair were my favourites at the time, it was a really sad day.
