Good stuff mate! I'd try and aerate the wart when transferring to the fermenter. That's just how I roll.

What material did your wife use to make the bag and where can i find it? Thank you.

@rxheaven13b It was a nylon or polyester mesh kind of fabric. I went with her to the fabric store and tested the fabrics out for strength and durability. After bringing it home, I re-tested it for strength and durability in boiling water. Everything was great so we went ahead.

@twedder: There is no better way to go than BIAB for efficiency (extraction efficiency, time efficiency, and $ efficiency).

Much better with the fresh ginger and fresh lemon juice in the keg. The fresh flavours really brighten up the beer, and even accentuate the grainy-ness. I'll be brewing this one again for sure.

I just tasted this beer: it turned out great, but surprisingly mild on the rye and the ginger flavour. Great amber-brown colour. Some ginger in the aroma, as well as dark caramel. I just chopped up another 100g of ginger, put it into a hop sock, and hung it in the corny keg (dry-gingering?). I also added the juice of a lemon and a bit of fresh lemon zest to the keg. I'll let you know how it tastes in a few days.
